How to Live Safely at Home
I have spent a lot of time talking about home security with a lot of homeowners. I am working to gain some insight on different ways our homes can become at risk. I asked each person I spoke with if they had ever experienced any suspicious actions at their house. A robbery, broken windows, a suspicious individual – whatever. Almost everyone had at least one story to tell me. Many of the experiences would lead them to purchase a burglar alarm. I have been told that Lake Forest Home Security is a great choice.
One gentleman informed me that he had been home for the afternoon, but left to pick his little boy up from soccer practice. When they got back about 10 minutes later, one of the windows on their house was shattered and some things were missing inside. He thought he was being watched, and the burglar knew once he left the house. Another mother of three explained to me that she opened the door to a man who claimed to be a salesman. After he finished speaking, he asked if he could talk it over with her inside. She said no thanks, and he again replied by asking if he could at least come inside and use her telephone. Because this man was being persistent, she again declined and shut the door.
We have all had our encounters with shady people and situations. Some experiences are worse than others, like that of the first man. The information I am getting will help me determine what drives people to install a alarm system. The second woman said she elected to get one the following day.
I have learned about a lot of comparable stories from other families. We never truly know what might happen on a specific day. I am positive these people did not wake up that morning and think something abnormal would happen that day. It really stresses the importance of being proactive.
